Contrast Studies (RGU, MCU, IVP, HSG)

At Meher Diagnostics, we offer specialized Contrast Radiology Studies including RGU (Retrograde Urethrogram), MCU (Micturating Cystourethrogram), IVP (Intravenous Pyelogram), and HSG (Hysterosalpingography) to provide detailed visualization of internal structures that cannot be seen on routine X-rays. These diagnostic tests are crucial in evaluating the urinary and reproductive systems and are performed with utmost precision and patient care.

RGU (Retrograde Urethrogram) is used to evaluate the male urethra and identify any narrowing (strictures), injury, or blockage. It involves gently injecting a contrast dye into the urethra and taking X-ray images.

MCU (Micturating Cystourethrogram) helps assess the bladder and urethra while urinating. It is commonly used in children or adults with recurrent urinary tract infections or suspected vesicoureteral reflux (backward flow of urine).

IVP (Intravenous Pyelogram) is a series of X-rays taken after injecting contrast dye into a vein to evaluate the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. It is useful for detecting kidney stones, tumors, structural abnormalities, or obstructions in the urinary tract.

HSG (Hysterosalpingography) is a vital test for evaluating female fertility. It involves injecting contrast dye into the uterus and fallopian tubes to check for blockages or abnormalities. HSG is often recommended for women facing difficulty conceiving or those undergoing infertility treatments.
