FNAC & Biopsy Procedures

At Meher Diagnostics, we offer expert FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) and Biopsy procedures to help diagnose a wide range of conditions, including infections, inflammations, cysts, and tumors. These minimally invasive diagnostic tests play a vital role in identifying the nature of abnormal swellings, lumps, or suspicious masses in the body.

FNAC involves using a thin, fine needle to extract a small sample of cells from a lump or swelling, which is then examined under a microscope. It is a quick, low-risk procedure that provides valuable information, especially for evaluating thyroid nodules, breast lumps, lymph nodes, and superficial swellings.

Biopsy, on the other hand, involves removing a small piece of tissue for histopathological analysis. It is typically used when more detailed evaluation is needed to confirm or rule out conditions like cancer, chronic inflammation, or specific infections.

Depending on the site, biopsies can be done using a needle (core biopsy) or surgically, under local or mild sedation.

All procedures are conducted under strict aseptic conditions and often guided by ultrasound or imaging for precise sample collection. These are performed or supervised by Dr. Saksham Sunil Gupta, our Head Consultant Radiologist with over 9 years of diagnostic experience, ensuring both safety and accuracy.

At Meher Diagnostics, we prioritize patient comfort and minimize procedural discomfort using gentle techniques and supportive care. The collected samples are processed in our in-house pathology lab, enabling faster turnaround times for results. Our detailed reports are reviewed by expert pathologists to ensure accurate diagnosis, helping your referring physician plan appropriate treatment or follow-up.

We understand the anxiety that may accompany such procedures. Our team takes time to explain the steps, answer all your questions, and provide a calm, supportive environment throughout.

Whether you’re undergoing FNAC for a thyroid nodule or a biopsy for a deeper lesion, our commitment remains the same: to deliver reliable, prompt, and precise diagnostic insight.
